It’s been a while since the debut album from Spectraliquid label has been released. But it is never too late to review an excellent release.
Temples, philosophers, holidays. This is the typical image that Greece conveys. True. But only for those who stops on commonplaces. For those who go further than cliches and most of all care about the developments of high level contemporary electronic music, today Greece should be associated with the birth of a new reality. A brand new collective of artists and performers whose main target is to feed the scene with new and interesting acts. Now collected in “Konkrete”, an absolute “manifesto”.
Beside the unmistakable classy inputs from Detritus and the Belgian “master-bat” Ah Cama-Sotz, “Konkrete” represents a real gold mine able to uncover exciting musicians who disclose new electronic soundscapes through the keys of elegance.
Subheim gives off a soft voluptuous fluid motion expanding in the night among tribal whirlpools and high tech lights. Translucent thrills speckled with surprisingly sexy grains, caressed by the delicate voice by Katja and a romantic winding cello.
Like inside a snowball, the dark pulse from Flaque is covered by an impalpable smoky IDM mesmerized by waves and sparks and glitters.
The dn’b is covered by a gentle layer and a dauntless classical counterpoint spiced with a post modern taste from Desperation & Fugue, until it turns into breakbeat controlled from the harmonic big synths from Throttler&Trackkiller. While the technoid rhythm is honoured from Xsoz, no wonder he is member of Asche´s label Fich Art now.
Absolutley not to be missed, the melanchonic sweetness catched up in the autumnal frame found in the broken microglith from Ytrium.
Eleven electronic visions where IDM, techno, dn’b and hectic breaks are magically wrapped in emotional and fine settings able to embellish each and every track, and where synthetic and nocturnal souls combine together in a miraculous embrace. Outstanding debut album.
